Rules for the hunting Competitions are as follows:

1.   This competition may be altered, or canceled at any time. 

2.   Competition is for fun, and is family oriented.

3.   Decision of judges are final

4.   All hunts must be fair chase.

5.   All game and fish laws must be followed.  Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

6.   Hunting/Fishing Video will only be allowed from dates of competition. Transitions, off and pre-season footage and trail camera video will be allowed if relevant to the story. Actual hunting/Fishing video must be from dates specified.  Each day afield, the Hunter or Fisherman must state date, time and year, if that days footage is shown on the edited version of the video.    This is how you will prove video was from actual competition days.

7.   Profanity must be edited or beeped out.  Excessive beeping will lower your points.  Profanity not removed will lower your points, and may be removed from competition.  This is a family competition, so it must be kept clean.

8.   No Nudity!  Keep it Clean!!!

9.   The respect of Nature, and the game you pursue must be respected.  Kill shots should be tasteful, and animals should be cleaned up as much as possible.  (no excessive blood)  We are under the watchful eye of non-hunters, as well as children, so lets give them the right impression of hunting.  Overly graphic video, or animal cruelty will not be allowed and will be disqualify your video. 

10.   Teams may have 1 or 2 members.  Each member must appear on camera and state there name at least once during the video

11.   If a team is 2 people, they must be together as hunter/Fisherman and camera man.  They may not hunt/fish separately to cover more ground.  If one of the members is not able to attend 1 member may video alone.  If your team member is unable to fulfill his duties to there team, you may select a new team member once in the competition.  Judges must be notified within 48 hours, and no previous video from before the change may be used. 

12.   Edited video must be submitted to (YouTube, TrophyRoom, Whitetailtube, Vimeo etc.) by deadline or it will not be accepted.


How Video's will be Judged!


1.   Videos will be judged in 2 ways, by a panel of judges that will individually judge all videos. (75%) Fellow Competators will also vote for there favorate Video and you can not vote for your own (25%)

2.   Points will be awarded for following rules above.

3.   Points will be awarded for video & Audio quality.  Video is not jerky, or shaky, audio is clear or subtitles are used when necessary, Light is sufficient - Viewers are able to clearly see what is going on.  Type or quality of camera equipment will not be judged.  We want this fair for everyone with a camcorder.  Tree arms, and tri-pods are recommended. 

4.   A kill or Catch is not necessary and will not add to the score of the video. 

5.   Points will be awarded for how well you tell the story.  That is what videoing is all about.  Telling the story - It can be about your 1 days hunt - or trip, or of your 2 weeks of hunting/Fishing.  How you do this is up to you!

6.   Each day afield the hunter/fisherman is required to state the date, and year - for every day of footage that is used in the edited version of your video.  You may use non-hunting video from time outside of the competition if it helps tell the story, e.g. Preseason scouting, trail camera video, transitions, etc. Hunting/Fishing video from outside the competition dates will not be allowed and you could be disqualified.   Points will be awarded on how well you follow this rule. 

7.   Points will be awarded for how well nature and the game you pursue is respected.  Clean up excess blood from animals before recovery scenes, if an animal is shot the kill shot should appear to be a quick clean kill.  Any graphic video should be edited out, as well as any animal cruelty will not be tolerated and your video may not be accepted.   Remember your audience could be anyone!  Kill shots are great, just make sure they don't get to graphic or cruel.

8.   Videos must be edited and uploaded to (YouTube, TrophyRoom, Whitetailtube, Vimeo etc.) by deadline to qualify.  Videos must be at least 1 minute long, and less than 10 minutes long. 

9.   Points will be awarded for Entertainment value!  How well were you able to keep your viewers attention.

10.   If an animal is taken on video, you must have and use the video of the hunter tagging the animal or validating permit before field dressing and removing animal.  Be prepared for this.  Have a light for your camera if recovery could be after dark.  This is to prove the animal was taken legally and to prove this video was from competition time frame.  No- Points will be added for having this footage, but points will be lost if its not used.

11.   Points will be awarded for videoing alone and how well this is accomplished, and points will equally be awarded if a 2 hunter team take turns in front of the camera and how well this is accomplished.  At the very minimum for the video to qualify both members of a 2 member team must appear in the edited video and state there name. 

12.   Video Editing may not be hired out!  This is part of the competition.  How well you can tell the story.  Expensive editing software may help you video look better, but it won't win you the competition.

13.   Points will be awarded for not soft selling non-sponsoring products.  You may soft sell products of sponsors of this event, as well as this website - You will not loose points but will also not gain points.  If you want to brag about your great shooting bow say- "I love this bow" not I love this "brand-y bow"
